Windows Mail

Windows Mail is the outlook express replacement email client in Windows 7. It's FREE to download and is part of the Windows Live pack which includes windows messanger and other useful programs.

This tutorial assumes the following details, please substitute your details accordingly.

The details are as follows:

Incoming Mail Server:

Outgoing Mail Server:

mail.refreshcreations.co.uk

Important! Your Outgoing SMTP Mail Address may be different to this: please refer to this list of servers for your ISP'

Notes

Any emails you fully delete from webmail will be removed from the server an made unretrievable.

Please Note, me@refreshcreations.co.uk is not a live account, any emails sent to this address will be ignored.

• Downloading Windows Mail

  Firstly, to download Windows Mail, visit: http://download.live.com/wlmail

  In your web browser and allow the file to download, then run the executable.

  Windows Live should now handle the installation of the program.

• Installing Windows Mail

  

  Ensure that Windows Mail is checked in the programs list on the right, then click Install

  It may take a while at this point for windows mail to be downloaded and installaed so please be patient.

  

  Click continue, then close the following window and windows mail is now installed on your machine.

• Running Windows Mail

  Windows Mail Should now appear in your Start menu looking something like this:

  

• Configuring Your Account with Windows Mail

  On first load you should get the following prompt for your email settings

  

  check manually configure settings for this account then click next.

  In the next box enter your details in as shown:

  

  You should now recieve the following message to confirm the set-up

  

• Basic Usage

  To send an email, simply click on new in windows mail and the following window should appear

  

  sending and recieving email can be done by clicking on the sync button which will automatically send out any emails in your outbox, then recieve any emails stored on the server.
