HTML Colour ChartThis chart displays a list of valid colour names in the W3C specification for HTML and CSS.
There lots of other colours available to you, these are just the valid ones named in HTML. Below is a handy flash app to pick colours from and return their hex value equivalents. In CSS you often use these to specify colours of objects using the following properties:
example code: <div style="background:
#000000;color:#ffffff;"> Hello World </div>
You can also use shorten versions for some colours using 1 character for each RGB value. For example: #0ff is equivalent to: #00ffff reducing the previous code to: <div style="background:
#000;color:#fff;"> Hello World </div>
Which can be handy for those final speed tweaks in your CSS Files Viewed 895 times since 30 Mar 2010 |
